PASSIVE VOICE




Passive voice is a grammatical construction (grammatical form) where the subject in the sentence (sentence) or clause (clause) does not take action, but rather accept the action or follow-up (receiver of action) by the other agent (DOER of action) either mentioned or not.


TERM OF SENTENCE PASSIVE VOICE :

4.       -Subject à by phrase
       
       

a.       Present Passive Voice

b.      Past Passive Voice

c.       Future Passive Voice

d.      Modal Auxiliary Passive Voice

       


          EXAMPLE :



   A.       PRESENT PASSIVE VOICE 



·         PRESENT TENSES

     -ACTIVE     :   Sister cooks fried rice in the kitchen
     -PASSIVE    :  Fried rice are cooked by sister in the kitchen


·         PRESENT CONTINOUS TENSE

                              -ACTIVE     :   The manager is interviewing the applicant
                              -PASSIVE   :    The applicant is being interviewed by the manager



·         PRESENT PERFECT

     -ACTIVE       :   The company has ordered some new equipment
     -PASSIVE     :   Some new equipment have been ordered by the company


   



B.      PAST PASSIVE VOICE




·         SIMPLE PAST TENSE

    -  ACTIVE     : Last night, we saw the movie in the living room
    - PASSIVE    : Last night, the movie was seen by us in the living room



·         PAST PERFECT TENSE

    -  ACTIVE     :  He had opened the door before she come 
    - PASSIVE    :   The door had been opened by him when she came



·          PAST CONTINOUS TENSE
    
     -  ACTIVE      : He was opening the door when i came
     -  PASSIVE    :  The door was being opened by him when i came

         


C.      FUTURE PASSIVE VOICE





·         FUTURE TENSE

    - ACTIVE  :  They will build the house
    - PASSIVE :  The house will be build by them

 ·         FUTURE CONTINOUS TENSE

    - ACTIVE  : My mother will be buying my pen
    - PASSIVE : My pen will be being bought by my mother


·         FUTURE PERFECT TENSE

    - ACTIVE    : Ani will have cleaned the kitchen
     -PASSIVE  : The kitchen will have been cleaned by Ani


D.      MODAL  AUXILARY PASSIVE VOICE

     - ACITVE : When i was young i could climb mount semeru
     - PASSIVE : When i was young mount semeru could be climbed by me
